our mission
Our mission is to build a coffee supply chain that measures success not only by the prices paid to producers, but by whether farmworker communities thrive.
guiding principles
Paying producers fair prices is essential. But fair prices alone do not guarantee that the people doing the work on the farm share in the value they help create.
Direct Trade, Fair Trade, and other sourcing models have moved the industry forward, but no label or certification can ensure that the benefits of trade reach everyone who contributes to producing coffee.
Lasting change depends on long-term relationships. They create the trust needed to understand local challenges, engage directly with farmworkers, and work alongside producers to improve livelihoods over time.
For us, transparency means more than disclosing what producers are paid. It also means understanding what farmworkers earn and holding ourselves accountable for helping create better outcomes.
The transaction is the beginning of the relationship — not the end of our responsibility.
Labels and certifications can guide better purchasing decisions, but they cannot replace accountability. When they become the end of the conversation instead of the beginning, they risk creating the impression that the work is done, when the most important work has only just begun.

Paying premium prices to coffee producers does not guarantee better conditions for workers, who often live in extreme poverty.
